EMAS

The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a system enabling businesses to undertake, voluntarily, to improve their environmental performance. It was established by European regulation (EC) no. 1221/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
The service we provide
Ecocert Environment (formerly Ecopass), an Ecocert subsidiary, conducts audits to identify areas for improvement in your Environmental Management System (EMS). Our audit reports also highlight the strengths of your procedures, in particular through performance indicators.
EMAS requires an assessment of environmental impacts and issues as regards:
- Purchases.
- Subcontractors and suppliers.
- Transportation (prior, subsequent, on site).
- Products or services (LCA) including through their indirect impacts on biodiversity.
